Update from the Board during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic

Postponement of AfL Seminars and events

Following Government guidance, the AfL Board have agreed that for the well-being of our members, visitors and volunteers we will be postponing all events until further notice. We are very sad to do this, as we so much look forward to our monthly seminars and to welcoming so many of our members and visitors. Please be assured that as soon as possible we will restart our exciting programme of seminars, and other meetings which have been planned.

BUT whilst we cannot meet as usual, we can meet virtually! We have our website to communicate through. And so we will be working hard with our website to bring you interesting content – this is a great opportunity for your input too – we’d love your help with this – you could tell us about your research and past archival visits, and send us interesting snippets of London’s history that you’ve been itching to tell someone about! Images (out of copyright) would be very welcome too.

Let’s make the most of this opportunity to share and create a marvellous AfL community website. You can send contributions and suggestions to: enquiries@archivesforlondon.org

I, and the Board very much look forward to AfL members sharing their archival experiences.
We thank you for your patience at this difficult time and look forward to reconvening at seminars as soon as is possible.
Do take care.

With best wishes,
Anne Barrett (Chairman AfL)
